Utah Business in Brief

Salt Lake Tribune 08-05-2005

Monday marks the first day of Utah Farmers Market Week, officially designated in a proclamation signing Thursday by Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. The designation recognizes a threefold increase in the number of farmers markets and community supported-agriculture projects during the past five years.

Larry Burdett, president and chief executive of United Way of Davis County, has announced his retirement from the organization after 31 years. He will continue as a consultant with United Way through year's end. A volunteer executive search committee is looking for his replacement.

American Fork-based Shade Clothing said its women's clothing, which the company describes as "hip and modest," are available in more retail locations. In addition to Lolabella and JMR stores, Shade Clothing is now carried by Utah retailers Whimsy, Once Upon a Shelf, Frolics and Christensen's. The growing company recently moved into a larger warehouse.

Salt Lake City-based Computer Associates Service Center, also known as CA Service, has moved from a location on 1300 South to its warehouse sales facility at 2865 S. 1030 West, consolidating its repair and sales departments.
