BROTHER AND SISTER FASHION ENTREPRENEURS ANNOUNCE JOINT VENTURE FEATURING DESIGNER WOMEN’S TEES
Shade Clothing and db clay officially launch the “Brother for Sister” collection with
four limited edition women’s tops, a must have this holiday season
American Fork, Utah and Portland, Oregon (Nov, 1 2006) - Shade Clothing, the leading provider of hip, modest clothing for women, and db clay, a Portland-based company specializing in high-end men’s wallets and accessories, today announced they have combined efforts to create an innovative line called Brother for Sister. The founders of both companies – Chelsea Rippy, Shade, and Garett Stenson, db clay – are literally brother and sister and this is their first official collaboration in business.
The co-branded collection was designed in Portland by db clay and features a line of hand screened women’s tops. The collection is launching with four festive styles for the holidays with prices ranging from $35 to $50 and will be available for sale beginning Nov. 1. The initial designs will be followed up with additional hand screened tops and other one-of-a-kind shirts and accessories. The Brother for Sister tees can be purchased online at www.brotherforsister.com, or at select boutiques throughout the country.
“For years I have watched my brother Garett carefully develop his wallet company. He is one of the cleverest guys I know and I’m excited to bring his creative influence to Shade,” said Rippy, founder and CEO of Shade. “Shade’s customers have a great eye for fashion, and I am confident they will love the unique character db clay brings to the table. This is a good opportunity for both of us to collectively showcase our individual talents.”
“I remember when Chelsea passed the name Shade by me for the first time - we were both just getting started in business. Since then I’ve been impressed watching her create, and also take over, an entirely new industry. I’m looking forward to influencing her products with theme-driven designs and special presentation,” said Stenson, owner and creative director of db clay. “The initial four designs are a festive tribute to our youth. We wanted to keep this first collection light hearted and fun. Going forward, we have plans to build an entire brand with this concept by combining db clay’s artistic tastes with Shade’s booming infrastructure.”
