Shade Clothing Fact Sheet

Shade Clothing is a company with a simple mission: make clothes that help women feel comfortable and happy. Launched from the basement of CEO and founder Chelsea Rippy’s home, Shade Clothing has quickly become the leader in hip, modest clothing. Its line of essential shirts allows women to wear all the latest styles without feeling uncomfortable and uncovered. By incorporating Shade into their wardrobe, women can now wear and feel comfortable in clothes that may have previously been too sheer, too low cut, too short or too wide at the neck.

Shade ShirtsShade Clothing launched in 2004 with two shirt styles and has since expanded to offer dozens of flattering and modest designs. Popular cuts include the original cap sleeve under tee, the heathered tee, and this season’s hot new looks: the yolk tee, vintage tee and baby doll.

Basic Black
Featuring elegant and modest designs, each Basic Black dress comes in a limited run of 100 dresses, ensuring customers will never be caught wearing the same thing as someone else. Basic Black adds new designs as styles sell out and are retired. Basic Black collections run from classic evening gowns to casual summer dresses. More at www.dressbasicblack.com.

Brother for Sister
Chelsea Rippy, founder of Shade Clothing, partnered with her brother Garett Stenson, founder of the trendy wallet company db clay, to launch this sub-brand of Shade. Brother for Sister offers a line of graphic tees, with funky designs hand-printed on Shade’s popular heathered tee. More at www.brotherforsister.com.

Shade Swim
Shade’s newest sub-brand provides swim separates designed to flatter the female figure. Unique swim bottoms feature a slimming band which tuck in the tummy and hide love handles. Each top is extra long, covering the higher bottoms, and the looser fit assists in hiding trouble areas. Separates are available in solids and screen-printed graphics.

Girly Line
In 2005, Shade expanded beyond women’s apparel and added the Girly Line. Designed for girls ages four through 12, parents can be confident knowing their daughters are dressed modestly, and girls will be happy that they are still on the cutting edge of style.
